What's in the CSV
- platform: chatgpt or claude
- conversation_id, conversation_title
- conversation_created: ISO date and time
- message_index: position in the chat
- role: user or assistant
- message_time: when it was sent, if the export has it
- words: word count of the text
- text: the message as Markdown
UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel shows Chinese, emoji and accents correctly. Cells that start with = + - or @ get a leading apostrophe so spreadsheets don't run them as formulas.
Questions
Is my chat export private?
Yes. The page reads your file in your browser and never sends it anywhere; the only network request is an anonymous page-view count (no cookies). Closing the tab clears everything.
What is left out?
Reasoning and tool output, and messages outside the current branch of a conversation. Images and attachments appear as [image] or [file: name]; the export usually doesn't contain them.
Can I get one chat as Word or PDF?
This tool makes spreadsheets. To read or share a single conversation, use the free export viewer (Markdown or HTML), or Ownchats for Chrome for Word and PDF.
